Save the Date Magnets

This is my busy time of the year as I begin working on save the dates and invitations for 2013!  My posts will be brief but I'm sure you are more interested in what you see than what you read. :)

Here are some fresh Save the Date designs:

Lauren & Matt are going with a classic look and so are Dawn & Anthony but with some bright colors.

Anne Marie & Kevin personalized their save the dates with a tandem bicycle (which they actually own in teal!) and sea-glass theme. Lots of fun!

Rachel & Sean's Save the Date Magnets

I have the privilege of designing all the details for Rachel & Sean's May wedding. First up are their save the date magnets! I love the custom shirts they made displaying their wedding date! A trend I'm noticing for 2013 is the color grey. It's an awesome neutral that goes well with any color.

Alisha & Mark's Peacock Feather Save the Date Magnets

Alisha and Mark are planning a colorful wedding around the rich tones of the peacock feather: deep teal, various shades of green, cream and golden tones. A little fact for the day...this would be considered an analogous color combination because all of the colors are adjacent to each other on the color wheel. Analogous color schemes are often found in nature and considered to be pleasing to the eye. It's no wonder why so many people find peacocks beautiful!

First up for Amanda and Mark are their save the date magnets. We've already begun planning on the invitations which are going to be just as full of color and beauty. I'm really excited about them!

Amanda & Kyle's Save the Date Magnets

Amanda and Kyle asked for me to create and piece together all of their wedding details, starting with the save the dates. Their design is extra special because Kyle is also a graphic designer and he lent some of his expertise (with Amanda's help of course). The two created the swirl design and monogram. I love it!

Jessica & William's Autumn Save the Date Magnets

I've probably said this before, but I love fall and fall weddings! The colors are rich and earthy, the leaves are changing colors on the trees and the weather is not too hot and not too cold. Autumn evokes a feeling of harvest and a new beginning.

This leads me to one of my fall couples: Jessica and William. They are planning their new beginning with an autumn affair at the stunning MayFair Farms, a 19th century mansion in West Orange, NJ. The couple wanted a formal design with a romantic feel to fit with their reception location. We started with save the date magnets and captured that feeling of romance, by incorporating a a few floating leaves and wispy swirls.

Brittany & Brian's Save the Date Magnets

Sometimes I am amazed by the internet and its ability to connect people from across the world. The past few years I've found myself designing for clients from all over the country -- many who found me through doing a simple Google search! Brittany came upon my design for Colby and Nathanial's zebra print save the dates and contacted me with interest in ordering the same design. After some careful consideration, Brittany decided on a custom design that was less "wild" but still bold and beautiful. Here's the final design!

Beth & Brock's Save-the-Date Magnets

Did you know that Penn State's original colors were pink and black? I learned this fun little fact from Beth when she contacted me about designing for her Penn State nuptials. Here's a little blurb about it from the college's official athletic site

A three-member committee representing the sophomore, junior and senior classes was appointed in October of 1887 to develop color options from which the student body would select the school's official colors. Dark pink and black was the unanimous choice of the student body after considering the color combinations presented by the committee.

Beth and her fiance Brock will be married on campus and celebrate at the charming Nittany Lion Inn. The couple wanted the elegance of the inn, along with the original PSU colors to be be reflected in their designs. First-up, Save-the-Dates!

Brad and Elizabeth's Parisian Save the Dates

Ranked as the world's most romantic city, Paris is undoubtedly a city for lovers. So, what would make a trip there even more romantic? How about a wedding proposal at the top of the Eiffel Tower?! Last year, Brad popped the big question to Elizabeth atop the tower and of course she said yes!  The couple plan to share their Parisian romance by incorporating hints of Paris within their wedding details.  Elizabeth shared some inspirational photos including the one below.  Here is the save-the-date design we came up with!

Carisa & Michael's Wintry Fairytale Save-the-Dates

It's a humid 80 degrees outside as I type this blog post about Carisa and Michael's winter wedding. I'm not ready to think about snowflakes falling just yet but I am willing to design them! Carisa and Michael are planning a fairytale wedding with a winter twist.  Carisa liked the idea of including a Cinderella-like carriage so I decided to make a monogram out of it.  I can't wait to design all of their wedding details!

Part of the fun of what I do is connecting or re-connecting with many different people. Becky and I know each other from being in the flute line together in high school. It was great to see her again at the Susquehanna Valley Bridal Show last year and I'm thrilled to be designing for her wedding! Becky and Matt's wedding day style will be "Vintage Country Chic" and will go perfect with their wedding at the very country chic Barn at Boone's Dam in Bloomsburg!

Jaclyn & Matthew's Save-the-Date Magnets

Jaclyn pictures her and Matthew's upcoming wedding as formal and romantic but with a "fun, vintage pop." The style will work great at the couple's charming reception location, The Barn at Boone's Dam (Bloomsburg, Pa.). Here are Jaclyn and Matthew's recently printed save-the-dates. Jaclyn plans to use lanterns as part of her wedding decor so we included them into the design. We also incorporated the barn detail in the magnet background.

Taryn is a long-time friend of mine that I first met while being a camp counselor at Wesley Forest. She actually became engaged right after camp this year! Taryn wanted the design to feel cheery and Spring-like with bright pinks and yellows. I love how they turned out! Thank you Taryn and congrats to you and Justin!!

Katie & Marc's Nautical Nuptials

When Katie described her wedding as "Gatsby-meets-East Coast Beach," my mind started racing with ideas for her save-the-date magnets!

The bride-to-be and her groom love the beach and are planning a wedding at the very fitting Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ. I incorporated a vintage font with a few nautical details and then used a map of Cape May as the the background for the magnet carrier card.

I can't wait to see what we come up with for the invitations! Thank you Katie & Marc!
