Whenever a new bride contacts me to design wedding invitations, I always look forward to reading about what they're planning for their big day! The challenge to bring their unique ideas to paper is what I love most about what I do. A significant invitation design feat for me this year was creating a watercolor-inspired look with a rustic/earthy feel for Cristina. The design was created in Photoshop with special watercolor paint brushes. It took a careful eye to create the right balance but the effort paid off with this beautiful design! Another added touch, that you'll have to look closely to find, are the hops -- a nod to Cristina's fiance, Christopher, who is a brewer!

Dr. Suess Baby Shower Invitations
As a little one, I remember the fun of reading Dr. Seuss books and watching the cartoon movies. The Lorax was one of my favorites (a lesson probably more relevant in today's society) and I love that they created a modern version of the movie. I may have to go see it!
Dr. Seuss books will always be timeless. And, with the growth in theme-oriented baby showers and children's birthday parties, I think Dr. Seuss will be a popular choice for years to come.
I was excited when a former bride of mine, Katie, asked me to create a Dr. Seuss inspired baby shower invitation. She and her husband Brian are expecting their first child this summer and wanted a design to match the baby's nursery. I think we did just that!

Valentine's Day Inspiration
The lovely duo at Live View Studios orchestrated a styled Valentine's Day shoot which I was honored to be a part of. Our theme was "Lovestruck" and we (including a variety of wedding vendors) put together a fabulous Pinterest board full of inspiration! The shoot was a success with the reward being published on the popular Elizabeth Anne Designs blog. Sadly, my invitations were lost in route to North Carolina in what we decided was the Post Office Black Hole. Fortunately, I was able to capture a few photos before they were mailed out! Here are also a few of my favorite shots from the photo shoot!

Equestrian Invitation Inspiration
Fabrics, textures and colors always rev up my creativity! So, throughout the upcoming months, I will be blogging inspired invitation designs. Last month I shared my "Peacock" design, inspired by the rich jewel tones of the peacock feather. I had a great response to it and couldn't wait to begin my next project. With the help of Pinterest, I discovered the growing trend of wood invitations. Designs are printed on real wood veneer; a beautiful and rustic idea! Here is my interpretation with a touch of equestrian/horse/ranch style.

Peacock Invitation Inspiration
While picking up some paper supplies, I stumbled upon a lovely gold pearl linen cardstock! To test it out, I created a fall design inspired by some current trends (jewel colored tones and peacock feathers). I also used StyleMePretty's inspiration board tool to help give me some ideas (see below).
Annemarie and Jimi's Baseball Ticket Invitations
I was thrilled when Annemarie said she wanted her wedding invitations to resemble an old Phillies' baseball ticket! Below is the original idea she sent me.
And, here's what we came up with. The ticket is perforated so that the RSVP card can be separated from the invitation! Be sure to check out the wording for the response card. Thank you Annemarie and Jimi. I loved creating these!

Sarah & Benjamin's Inspired Invitations
Sarah contacted me during the winter with an enchanting jewel-tone wedding inspiration board. From it, we created save-the-date magnets (w/ carrier card) inspired by the lanterns in the wedding tent at the Priestley-Savidge House (the couple's reception location). And now, I'm thrilled to share the couple's pocket-fold invitations! I know I'm a little bias, but these turned out positively stunning!

Sarah & Benjamin's Save-the-Date Magnets
Sarah and Benjamin's save-the-date magnets just came in from the printer and I couldn't wait to share them! In an earlier post, I mentioned that Sarah sent me an inspiration board. The bride-to-be especially loved the look of the lanterns that hang from the tent at her reception site so I knew I wanted to incorporate that into the design. We decided to place the lantern on the magnet carrier card to help keep the magnet simple and clean looking. Enjoy!

Fall Inspiration Board
In a previous post, I mentioned the gaining popularity and practicality of inspiration boards. I was delighted this week when a bride sent me one along with her design questionnaire! Sarah is planning a fall wedding with a non-traditional but stunning color scheme of navy, sangria, pistachio and orange. The design proofs were finished today so I can't share them just yet. But, I will share the inspiration board!
