Baby Bryce's Birth Announcement

As much as I love wedding designs, I also love to design baby announcements. Kelly received a gift certificate at her baby shower for me to create announcements for her newborn. Once Kelly had some professional photos taken, I placed them into the layout (which features a classic argyle pattern). Congratulations Kelly and Jeff!

Jessica and Jared's Save-the-Date Postcards

Jessica and Jared are planning a casual, flower-filled wedding at the Priestley-Savidge House and came to me asking for a save-the-date postcard to reflect their fun personalities.

I love typography and working with the shapes of letters to create unique monograms. So, I was excited when I had a bride and groom with the same initial: J. Somehow, I wanted to incorporate a flower into the monogram. By placing the J's back to back, I created a stem and then topped it off with a daisy head.

A creative touch that Jessica wanted to include in the design was a picture of the couple in place of the date of their wedding on the calendar. Great idea! Sorry, I just realized that's not showing in the photo below.

Thank you Jessica and Jared. I had so much fun with this design!

Nikki and Ron welcomed Baby Marley to their family and are announcing her birth with this elegant design. The look is inspired by the baby's nursery which Nikki described as vintage french with a beachy twist! Love it!

Sarah & Benjamin's Save-the-Date Magnets

Sarah and Benjamin's save-the-date magnets just came in from the printer and I couldn't wait to share them! In an earlier post, I mentioned that Sarah sent me an inspiration board. The bride-to-be especially loved the look of the lanterns that hang from the tent at her reception site so I knew I wanted to incorporate that into the design. We decided to place the lantern on the magnet carrier card to help keep the magnet simple and clean looking. Enjoy!

Photo Fun

Flickr is pretty amazing. Literally, this online photo website has a snapshot of everything and can be a great source for inspiration. I stumbled upon these creative photo booth-inspired save-the-dates and wedding invitations.

You could easily create your own photo booth with a simple backdrop (e.g. curtains or sheets) and then snap away with your camera's automatic timer setting. Using a photo-editing program, convert the photos to black and white and then insert text if necessary. It's a fun and simple DIY project.

Kara & Matthew's Save-the-Date Magnets

Kara, an old classmate of mine from as far back as elementary school, got in touch with me recently to design Save-the-Date magnets for her and her fiance Matthew. The couple chose hot pink and black as their wedding colors which are perfect for a modern yet traditional look. For ease of mailing, the magnets were attached to larger cards.

I love the photo they selected. Very cute!
