Katie and Cristian's Save the Date Magnets and Cards

I first met Katie at the bridal show in the fall and was so pleased when she contacted me! I'm excited to be designing all of the wedding details for their summer affair at the beautiful Priestley-Savidge Parkview. First up: Save-the-dates. I love that Katie and Cristian are pairing their classic style with the bold color, "firecracker."  Enjoy!

Minted "Something Old, Something New" Challenge

Back in September, I entered a few designs for Minted's "Something Old, Something New." The objective was to design chic and subtle invitations that allow couples to incorporate elements of their culture and customs into their weddings. There was also a "just for fun" category that included other ‘traditions’ like Las Vegas, Disneyland, Military and Luau.  After about 4 months, I kinda forgot about the whole thing until I checked my email last night. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my "Cinderella" design was chosen as an editor's pick and will be sold at Minted.com in the near future!

Submissions for Minted's Moving Announcement contest closed this morning. Below are my entries. I'll let you know when they will be available to vote for!

Morgan & Tyler's New Year's Eve Designs

What better way to celebrate New Year's Eve than uniting in marriage! Morgan and Tyler both said "I Do" on the last day of 2011 in Harrisburg and welcomed 2012 with a fabulous wedding celebration (Click here to see photos of the event by RoxAnne Photography).  I had the pleasure of meeting Morgan at the Lewisburg Bridal Show in the Fall and was thrilled when she asked me to design their programs and seating chart. The programs were printed on metallic gold linen cardstock and the seating chart feature a custom flourish wedding logo to match the programs!

2012 Wedding Style Trends

With the new year comes new trends! I've been fervently at work on save-the-date and invitation designs for 2012, and I thought I'd share the main style trends I've been noticing. But remember, there is one trend that is timeless -- and that is to make your wedding your own. Choosing what you love and want to incorporate into your wedding day is most important. Who knows, you may be the inspiration for next year's trends!

Old Hollywood Glamour
Old Hollywood Glamour has been roaring since last year and now the runways and Hollywood are taking notice. What's not to love? You have the dramatic contrast of black and white, the dazzling effect of crystals and feathers, and even old movie theater charm! Spurned by the original designs I did for Tiffany & Chad's wedding, brides across the country have been asking me for their own slice of Old Hollywood Charm infused into their special day.

Traditional Elegance
The simplicity and sheer elegance of William and Kate's royal wedding made brides across the world swoon. For me, it all started when Kate stepped out of the car. What I especially love about their wedding was the use of locally sourced greenery/flowers, charity registry and personalized vows.
Royally influenced or not, many of my brides this year are choosing classic and formal designs.

Vivid Colors
Bright colors are popping up in 2012. Here is a sample of some of the colors I've been working with:

Monogram It
If you are looking for a simple way to personalize your wedding, monograms or wedding logos are perfect for you! This year brides are increasingly requesting their inclusion into the wedding stationery.
Here a few of my favorites from over the years:

Amanda & Paul's Seating Chart

Amanda and Paul asked me to design a seating chart for their formal fall wedding reception at Townside Too in Northumberland. I chose a swirl design and subtly worked in some leaves.  As always, the main focus of the design is the couple's name or monogram.  A simple but elegant design!

Carisa & Michael's Thank You Cards

First off, Happy New Year to everyone and congratulations to all the newly engaged brides!!

A big "Thank You" to all the wonderful couples, individuals and families I've had the pleasure of working with in 2011. The variety of creative ideas and input from all of you allowed me to stretch my abilities and, in the end, make me a better designer!  Two thousand twelve is already promising to be just as inspiring!

My first post of the year will be Carisa and Michael's thank you cards. We continued their wintry fairytale theme, incorporating their wedding logo and snowflakes. Below are links to more of their wedding designs. Carisa will be sharing photos of their wedding details soon and I can't wait to post them!
